Mandalas

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning sacred circle. Found in virtually every culture, mandalas have been utilized in art, healing rituals, and sacred ceremonies. Psychotherapist Carl Jung, who is credited with bringing the mandala to the West, believed that it was an avenue to the inner life and soul. Transpersonal psychologists and art therapists utilize mandalas with their clients to naturally resolve conflict and bring
wholeness to dissociation within the psyche.

Journaling

Journaling is a valuable resource that increases the richness of the Inner Wealth™ experience. A journaling process, whether it be a “sprint” format (given a time limit, e.g. 5 minutes) or a stream of consciousness flow (both inviting writing without pausing to “think”), supports getting beyond the voice of the inner critic. The intention is to access the authentic voice and to touch the truth of expression, beyond perceived self-images and identities.

Oracles

An Oracle is defined as a person or avenue that serves as a source of wise counsel or prophetic insight. With an oracle card, the participant’s perceptions and power of the moment reveal what the inner knowing most needs to communicate for the greatest benefit.

Moving and Seated Meditations

Meditation serves as an anchor to a present, tranquil, and alert state of being. A meditation practice is one of the most nourishing gifts we can give to ourselves. There are various practices within Inner Wealth™ that utilize meditation. Whether receptive, introspective or expressive (art, movement, journaling, sound), they all offer wonderful benefits.

Yoga, Nia, Multicultural Dance and Dance Therapy Techniques

Yoga comes from the root word “Yoke” which means, “to unite or bring together.” Yoga activates the innate healing abilities of the body. The practice of yoga creates a strong, supple body, optimal alignment, focused attention, inner radiance, and robust health. Its vast benefits stretch far beyond the physical postures and breathing techniques.

The Nia Technique is an expressive body-mind movement practice, embracing fitness and health. Combing elements of Modern and Jazz dance, Yoga, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, Aikido and more, Nia offers a full body cardiovascular conditioning and cross training experience. It increases strength, agility, balance, and coordination. It playfully and skillfully blends the power of martial arts, the grace and spontaneity of dance and the therapeutic benefits of the healing arts. It creates a state of well being and aliveness that benefits all aspects of life.

Community celebration, the universal language of rhythm and joyous, free movement are inherent in Multicultural Dances. The power of drumming and dance awaken the primal life force within us. Engaging in West African and Brazilian Samba dance, Inner Wealth™ participants will receive refreshing opportunities to go beyond inhibited into inhabited movement. Rhythmic dance invites us to fall in love with being in our bodies while sharing our unique groove in a non-competitive atmosphere of athleticism, sheer energy and life passion.
